I took my camera with me today when I went to my optometrist's office to pick up my new glasses. Exploring a different neighborhood, I found this lovely door. I was in my car, slowly cruising up and down streets. It must have looked a little odd, but there were lots of people around so they probably thought I was just driving carefully. :) Anyway, I was glad to see this house on the correct side of the street to catch the sun, which better shows off the ironwork and glass. Like yesterday's house, there is a lot of symmetry to this entry, but unlike yesterday's, this house is more traditional in style.

This is just lovely. It's so pleasing to the eye. I wasn't too keen on yesterday's style but this is just fab. I guess I must be a traditional sort of person.
Oh yes, the light on the iron is lovely.
(I picture you cruising the streets to find interesting doors like I do for bikes, the only difference being the temperature ;) ) I
All your neighbourhoods have extremely impressive doors and gates.
This one is very "posh" and sure to make a lasting impression on a visitor.
Magnificent! Ok I was just thinking, how do you shoot these shots? Do you shoot from the car window or do you actually get out and stand in front of the door/gates and then shoot? And are you using a tripod? All your photos are crisp and clear and beautiful.
If I'm not walking around with a camera around my neck looking for houses, I am driving around looking for houses! When I see a good door/gate, I (almost always)park my car and get out, walk over to the front and just take 3-4 pics of the house, hand-held, at different settings. One, however, was taken through the passenger window of my car. When I get home, I just try to pick the best shot and go from there! All but one were taken with my 40D; one of them was taken with my little Canon point-and-shoot. Glad you are enjoying them!
Another beautiful find! I wonder if people have called the police about you? "Officer, there is a suspicious lady driving a car slowly through the neighborhood, and sometimes she gets out and starts taking pictures of houses..."
Sounds like someone scoping the next robbery :)
Your lighting is perfect as is the symmetry....I know how tough it is to go out and find something new (and interesting) every day. This one is my favorite so far.
You find such fantastic doors. I was going to say much the same as Ddallas. If you miss a day, we'll know you've been taken in for questioning !

I love this door. It just seems like it would be the door I buy for my own home. Guess that makes me traditional but I don't care... I love your shots and your dedication in going out every day and shooting. Crossing my fingers and holding my thumbs that it doesn't rain.
This has a very homely feeling to it. The roughhewn pavers and wall bricks and the very earthy tones in the wall all contribute to a very welcoming feeling, even though the doors are shut. Nice find.
This is one of my fave door shots of yours. From the white flowers, to the stones to the wrought iron... it's perfect.
This would make a fabulous diptych with the previous days gate. Both so smart and full of texture.
