Day 28 - Wood and Stone

Whether it's the shape of the gate, or the combination of the rich and warm wood and stone colors, I found this entry to be very welcoming! I have no idea why there is a stone on the driveway; I didn't even notice it when I took the photo. But I loved the cutout of the key on the gate knobs!

Oh that key is such a nice addition to the gate! Love the color of the wood, it's very inviting.

I think the stone may be there if the big gate door doesn't stay open .. you can hold it open with it as it is big and heavy.

Now, this is a beautiful outside door. It is a type of door you wouldn't see here as the elements would ruin it in a few years. I really like the warmness of the wood and how the doors make you feel like you may already be inside. Another wonderful addition to your gallery

Wow that key on that gate is very cool. Nice clean photo. I think the stone is to hold the gate open. Your gallery is AWESOME!

Another interesting find. Somehow a solid door with a big key and a security sign makes it less welcoming for me even though the wood has a warm colour and has nice design. As a guest and being a curious person I prefer the semi see through glass doors. But being a privacylover I do understand people choosing a solid door for their entrance.

The gate looks almost like a face; it hints of a friendly jack o' lantern. (Maybe I've seen too many AmEx commercials.)

Maybe the stone on the driveway is to keep the gate open. Love the warm wooden tones. Very elegant again. And very solid-looking. Another wonderful find!

They have used very complementary materials for the very welcoming entranceway.
The security alarm sign spoils it slightly.

I love the giant key! I'm with eury, the stone is probably to prop up the gate. They could have put it somewhere more discreet while not in use, though.
