We're still having intermittent strong rain. This really has been a crazy week in Southern California. Another shot from my car, as I drove around looking for interesting gates and/or doors. I don't know why a large tree was planted almost directly in front of the gate, but it meant I couldn't get a head on shot. Also the angle was tough, so the arbor almost hides the arched entry portico behind. But it's different, and interesting in its own way!

I've heard on the television that you will still have more nasty weather in California tomorrow. They joked about it, saying people had rain on their cars and didn't know what to do, and some wanted to know if they would need new cars... or that the only water people were used to was the kind that came in an Evian bottle. LOL, Silly people ! :-D
As for this photo, I'm not deterred by the angle, I love that foliage around the gate, and how little cutouts show the address and some sort of tile with a horse. All of your photos are wonderful, but I'm curious. Are all homes pretty much in this sandy color?
Much of our general area is designed to look "Mediterranean" or "Tuscan" in style. So yes, much of it is earth-toned stucco. I will see what I can find in different styles and colors next week!
I just love your doors and gates. I would really like to see the houses that they belong to.
I'm enjoying the angled shots. They add a little mystery.
It's funny how people try to soften up a hard stone like this with plants.
They have done a pretty good job here - I like it and the little cut outs are a nice touch.
oh, I wasn't complaining about the color, it is lovely. I was just remarking. I think it gives a definite consistency to the entire gallery.
It's very pretty. But the steps look dangerously slippery in the wet. And is it really necessary to have those big iron gates so close to the front doors. Seems a shame.
This is really beautiful. One of my favorites!
I've always loved vine covered gates and such and this vine looks so lush and thick and makes the gate very inviting.
That is a lovely arch on the gate. What I like most is the reflection of the gate in the window of the door. That is a neat find.
The foliage around the door is beautiful and judging by the base of that tree, it was probably there long before the house. They must have built the house afterwards and kept the tree standing. This one is so beautiful and quaint.
This reminds me of an upmarket Hobbit Hole with the circle and vine. There is so much to look at, I especially like the horse letter box.
