Many of your comments mentioned that you wondered what lies beyond some of the gates I've included in my gallery this month. What better way to end than finding one of these solid barrier gates open! As I mentioned previously, lots of homeowners here wall in their front yards for privacy. That seems to be the case here, though I did notice, when I walked by, that there was a little garden gnome flag inside this gate! A head-on shot showed only the gate and the front door beyond, but this angle caught the welcoming gnome!
Well, we've finally reached the end of the 30 + 1 Day Photo Frenzy! I hope you have enjoyed looking at my daily posts and gallery of doors and gates as much as I've enjoyed compiling it. When I started this project I had no idea what I'd include, other than a few specific gates I knew about from before the challenge. Venturing out with a specific goal of finding interesting, different and unique gates wasn't always easy, nor was it always easy or convenient to try to find gates when I was away, but I've included ones I've thought you'd enjoy. I did take pictures of more than one gate on some days, and have kept those in a separate folder of Doors and Gates that I've started, and which I hope to expand in the future. I guess it sometimes takes prodding and motivation that a challenge like this provides to embark on a photographic mission!
Thank you all so much for visiting my blog, and taking the time to comment. I really appreciate your comments, and want you to know that they kept me going on some days when I didn't really feel like continuing for one reason or another!

What a perfect way to end the challenge Buffy. I loved all your images. You have a terrific gallery now. Some magazine needs to see your images and pick them up. They belong in a home and garden magazine or something. I will never look at a door or gate the same.
Super gallery and thank you for your entertaining blog also along the way, it's been a fascinating gallery to watch and learn from.
I like all of the doors and gates though the #30 day one is hard to beat.
Thank you Carol, for bringing us this experience that was doors and gates. Never in my wildest imagination would I believe you could capture so many beautiful and magical doorways. Your gallery is one of my favorites to visit and when I thought that I had seen the most wonderful and beautiful entrance, you would come along with again something more beautiful and magical such as yesterday's.
I wonder if people realize these are far from snapshots, that an incredible amount of work goes into making all these doorways and gates looks as amazing as they do; how you have to balance out harsh lighting, and redress the distortion the distortion that inevitably happens. What a wonderful gallery and something you can be proud of.
Thank you also for the extremely kind and generous comments you have made on my photos. Much Appreciated. :-)
What a lovely way to end! You have such a fantastic gallery here. It's been really interesting viewing your photos.
The photos which stand out for me are:
Day 7: This has such a lovely airy ocean feel about it.
Day 12: Is just grand - and very traditional, which I like.
Day 21: Looks like it came straight out of a story book. Very fairy tale-ish.
Say 25: Lovely. You can tell I like the traditional ones can't you!
Thanks for sharing your photos with us. They've been a plesure to view. And thank you for your absolutely wonderful commenting. Each and every comment has been very much appreciated.
That is a good idea to finish with a peek inside, and to have gnome waiting to greet us!
This gate/door looks to be cunningly disguised as the fence when it is shut.
Wow, I have enjoyed your blog and gallery and appreciate how hard you had to work some days; I have learnt so much.
Thanks for all your lovely comments on my photos which certainly helped me keep going.
Buffy? as in the Vampire Slayer?
I'm sorry to see the month end. You really should complile a group and submit to a home/garden magazine. But then you would have to get waivers from all those homeowners, wouldn't you?
Congrats for taking a picture for every day of the challenge and I was sorry that you never got to post them all on the right days in the middle, but very glad that you continued anyway. These challenges are very good for the soul and productive output, but not very good for keeping real life on track! ;-)
This is another great shot, and I love the flash of colour through that door. The big bowl to the left makes me think they have used a toilet for a planter! Tee hee.
Very nice work all round, so very well done!
